Norah Jones delights onlookers at St. Pancras

St. Pancras International played host to legendary singer-songwriter and 9-time GRAMMY® award winner Norah Jones today, with an exclusive piano rendition of her worldwide hits ‘Don’t Know Why’ and ‘Sunrise’, plus two songs from her new album, ‘Visions’, which was released last Friday 8th March 2024 via EMI/ BlueNote.

Travelling with ease from the centre of Paris directly to the centre of London at St. Pancras International on the Eurostar, Jones delighted shoppers and travellers by showcasing her talent as she performed solo, accompanied only by the keys of the station’s infamous Elton John piano.

The performance follows in the footsteps of fellow GRAMMY® award winner Alicia Keys and dynamic duo Sir Rod Stewart and Jools Holland who performed at St. Pancras International. Other world-class performers to have graced the St. Pancras piano include John Legend, Tom Odell, Jeff Goldblum, and James Arthur.

Public piano performances have become an iconic part of the atmosphere and culture at St Pancras and are adored by the public. The pianos were launched at St. Pancras International in 2012 when the City of London Festival celebrated its golden anniversary on a grand scale and have remained available to play ever since. Elton John even gifted a piano to St. Pancras himself in 2016, which Jones made use of today.

The St. Pancras station has become renowned for regular performances from stars, talented members of the local area and even visitors from afar. The station’s main Arcade, which is host to the pianos, has grown into a hub of cultural activity over the years, creating a strong sense of community and lively destination for exciting arts activations.

Wendy Spinks, Commercial Director at St. Pancras and HS1 Ltd said: “Our station is proud to host public performances, creating an exciting and lively destination for travellers and shoppers alike. We are delighted that Norah Jones chose to celebrate her new album with St. Pancras and we have no doubt that her surprise performance will have brought smiles to visitors at the station and enjoyment to all.”
